We are using Fly Engravity Overheads in our cockpit. All interfaced using Flight Deck Solutions Interface- and relay cards. We might eventually get around and re-wire and fix some backlighting, but that is not yet that prioritised. As per now, LED strips are just put around the different panels as well as on the top of the wooden plate that covers the back part of the overhead. Not the tidiest nor the best solution.

The overhead use a mixture of Flight Illusion and CockpitSonic gauges, where the Flight Illusion gauges are preferred. We are soon looking into changing the CockpitSonic ones to either Flight Illusion or Custom Sim Parts as they seem to fit a lot better in the overhead.

To get the “real feel” we use engine start switches with solenoids. These jumps back when the engines have reached a certain N2 value. A lot of the switches are also locking toggle switches, just like the real thing.

For the DC/ELEC panel we use the Flight Deck Solutions ELEC panel, which also connects to the pressurisation display. We suspect that these have a short, since they’re dim with a clear non-dimmed line. This persists on all the displays.

Both of the overheads are mounted in a custom made steel-frame.

As you can probably see in the pictures, the AFT Overhead is not yet finished. We are looking at doing this after setting up the three-way projection setup we have in the plans.
