No cockpit is complete without a steering tiller, as it is crucial during taxi operations. It provides greater control over the nose wheel than the rudder pedals. This is on the 737: 78° in both directions vs 7° by the rudders pedals.
Our steering tiller is made by LP_Aerohome and has a great quality and feel. It’s an allround metal construction (apart from the tiller itself, that’s 3D-printed). You control it using a simple potentiometer, which is wired up to your interface card of choice. It uses springs, so it can turn a bit squeaky, but nothing that some WD40 can’t solve. It’s cheap, priced at just 145€.
